Here we would like to suggest a few things to do and see while you are in the far north and of course the best way to get around is in your own Rental Car, this give you the freedom to stay for just a while or linger a little longer at the place you prefer rather than on a scheduled bus tour. Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Experience - Without a doubt one of the most popular day trips is to the Daintree National Park our local World Heritage Listed Rainforest the only place in the world where 2 world heritage areas meet, that is the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Mosman Gorge is a must stop on the way. A few minutes west of Mossman at the entrance of the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park is the magical and mysterious Mossman Gorge. Home to the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal Community, the Gorge is the ancient site of many local Aboriginal legends. The traditional Aboriginal land owners conduct tours from their base adjacent to the Gorge Community. The tours take visitors through the rainforest explaining traditional Aboriginal rainforest plant use. All tour guides are Kuku Yalanji and well versed on the stories and legends of the area, you can swim in the cool water coming off the tablelands in one of the three swimming holes and walk through the rainforest and across the suspension bridge great location to explore and visit.

Port Douglas is on the way north and is a popular stop for some fine dining and reef trips, originally a quite fishing village Port Douglas has grown into a major tourist town, plenty of shopping, cafe, the Marlin Marina is the place to catch a boat to the reef or fishing trips whatever you are after
Hartley's Crocodile Farm - Situated on the magnificent coastal drive between the popular destinations of Palm Cove and Port Douglas. Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is the best place to see crocodiles and native wildlife in Tropical North Queensland. Set in the foothills of the MacAlister Range, in a World Heritage listed area, Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is home to a range of habitat types including melaleuca wetlands, riverine rainforest and eucalypt woodland.
